Embryo Courier from the UK to Saudi Arabia
A hand-carry route between UK and European IVF clinics and the Saudi clinic you nominate. The tank travels in the cabin with a UN3373 qualified courier, never in the hold, with the documentation pack prepared before a collection date is set.
How Your Transfer to Saudi Arabia Works
Four stages, start to finish. We coordinate every document and every handover — your clinic and your courier are never guessing what happens next.
Consultation & Documentation
We confirm your export and receiving clinics, prepare clinic agreements, and coordinate the documentation both sides need before a collection date is set.
Clinic Collection
Our courier arrives with a pre-charged MVE SC 4/3 dry shipper. Material identity is verified with the releasing embryologist under dual-witness protocol before anything moves.
Cabin Transport to Riyadh or Jeddah
The sealed dry shipper travels through security with manual inspection and stays with our courier in the cabin for the entire journey — no hold, no exceptions.
Delivery & Handover
The dry shipper is handed directly to your receiving clinic in Saudi Arabia. A second dual-witness verification closes the chain of custody, and you receive a delivery confirmation message.
The MVE SC 4/3 Dry Shipper
Every transfer to Saudi Arabia travels in an MVE SC 4/3 vapour-phase liquid nitrogen dry shipper — the same equipment we use on every route we operate. It is DGR-exempt, but still requires written airline approval for every individual booking, which our courier obtains directly from each airline's cargo or dangerous goods division before travel.
The tank is carried as cabin baggage at all times. It is never checked in and never sent as cargo — on this route or any other we operate.
−196°C Continuous
No interruption in temperature from clinic to clinic.
Cabin Carry Only
Never checked in, never cargo — every flight, every time.
Per-Booking Airline Approval
Obtained directly from each airline's DG division before travel.
Dual-Witness Protocol
Verified identity at both collection and delivery, every transfer.
You Choose the Clinic. We Move Between Them.
We do not hold a standing partnership with a particular Saudi clinic, and we are not going to imply that we do. You or your referring clinic nominate the receiving centre in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam or anywhere else in the Kingdom, and we build the transport around it — point to point, clinic to clinic, with the same courier from collection to handover.
What we bring to a first transfer with a clinic we have not worked with before is the documentation side. We approach the receiving clinic directly, agree the paperwork each end has to issue, and prepare the courier pack in advance so that neither clinic is improvising at the point of release.
Send us its name and city and we will approach it directly about receiving arrangements. If you do not have one yet, speak to your own clinic first — choosing the receiving centre is a clinical decision, and it is not one a courier should make for you.
Documentation for the UK–Saudi Arabia Route
A transfer into Saudi Arabia typically involves a clinic agreement from both the exporting and the receiving clinic, a No X-Ray letter addressed to airport security at each departure and arrival point, and customs release documentation for the arrival airport. Where the material falls within the scope of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority's rules on importing biological products intended for human application, an importation licence is generally obtained before anything moves, and that application sits with the receiving clinic rather than with the courier.
Your export clinic will have its own licensing or regulatory sign-off to complete on its side as well. We coordinate the courier side of the pack directly with both clinics and prepare it ahead of the collection date. This is general information only, it is not legal or regulatory advice, and current requirements should be verified with your clinic's own regulatory department and with the relevant authority before a transfer date is fixed.
Clinic agreements, import and export authorisation and airline approval together typically take several weeks to arrange, and an authorisation step is the one part of the timeline that cannot be compressed. Please do not wait until a treatment date is fixed before contacting us.
0% X-Ray Exposure
We do not permit X-ray screening of biological material at any point on the journey — this is a hard operational rule, not a hopeful promise. Our courier carries a full documentation pack requesting manual inspection at every security point on both the departure and arrival side.
If manual inspection cannot be secured at a given checkpoint, the shipment does not proceed through that checkpoint. We plan routes and timing around this rule, not around the exception to it.
Manual Inspection, Every Time
Requested and confirmed in advance at every checkpoint on the route.
Written Documentation
A dedicated No X-Ray letter accompanies the courier at every checkpoint.
What We Bring to a Saudi Transfer
A UAE Company
Embryo Links FZE LLC is registered in Ajman, United Arab Emirates. The Gulf is not a market we service from a distance.
A Partner Clinic in Oman
Oman International Hospital is our partner clinic in the region, and we handle import and export of biological material through Oman.
Twelve Years of Routes
More than 1,250 successful transfers to date across more than 30 countries, every one hand-carried in the cabin.
UK to Saudi Arabia — Frequently Asked Questions
Will our embryos be X-rayed at any airport on the UK–Saudi Arabia route?
No. We do not permit X-ray screening of biological material at any point on the journey. Our courier carries a full documentation pack requesting manual inspection at every security point, on both the departure and arrival side, and the shipment does not proceed unless manual inspection is secured.
Do you already have a partner clinic in Saudi Arabia?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. You or your referring clinic nominate the receiving centre, and we approach it directly to agree receiving arrangements and the documentation each end needs to issue. What we hold in the region is a UAE company registered in Ajman and a partner clinic in Oman, which is why Gulf routing and Gulf paperwork are familiar ground for us.
Who applies for the import authorisation?
The receiving clinic does, in its own name, with Embryo Links named as the courier on the paperwork. The same pattern applies at the other end, where your export clinic completes its own licensing or regulatory step. We prepare and chase the courier-side documents and liaise with both clinics, but an authorisation held by a clinic has to be applied for by that clinic.
Is the tank ever placed in the aircraft cargo hold?
Never. The dry shipper travels as cabin baggage with our courier at all times, on every leg. This is confirmed in the written airline approval we obtain for each individual booking through the carrier's cargo or dangerous goods division.
How long does the process take before transport?
It varies by clinic and by which authorisations the route needs, so we cannot give a single fixed number. As a general pattern, clinic agreements, authorisation and airline approval together typically take several weeks. The authorisation step is what sets the calendar — everything else can be compressed, an authority cannot.
What does Embryo Links handle, and what stays with our clinic?
We coordinate the courier pack — clinic agreements, No X-Ray letters, customs release documentation and airline approval — and we liaise directly with both clinics about what each one needs to provide. Consent, licensing and the clinical decisions stay with the clinics. We recommend confirming those with your own clinic's regulatory team alongside our coordination.
