Embryo Courier from Spain to Iran
Hand-carry transport of embryos, eggs and sperm direct from Spanish IVF clinics to Tehran fertility clinics — not routed via the UK. We coordinate documentation on both sides and travel with your specimens the whole way, cabin baggage, never cargo, with Farsi coordination built into how the route works.
How the Spain to Iran Route Works
There are no direct commercial flights between Spain and Iran, so every journey routes through a connecting hub such as Istanbul. Four stages, start to finish — nothing improvised at the airport.
Consultation & Documentation
We confirm which Spanish and Tehran clinics are involved, what each side's regulatory process requires, and prepare export authorisation, import acceptance letter and customs declaration in advance — in English and Farsi where required.
Clinic Collection
Our courier arrives at your Spanish clinic with a pre-charged MVE SC 4/3 dry shipper. Specimen identity is verified using dual-witness protocol before anything moves.
Cabin Transport, Manual Inspection
The courier carries the sealed dry shipper through security with a manual inspection request at every checkpoint, boards the connecting flight, and keeps the container with them the entire journey — no hold, no exceptions.
Tehran Arrival & Clinic Handover
Customs release documentation clears the tank at Imam Khomeini International Airport. Direct, witnessed handover to the receiving embryologist completes the chain of custody, and you receive a delivery confirmation message.
The MVE SC 4/3 Dry Shipper
Every collection on this route travels in our own validated MVE SC 4/3 cryogenic dry shipper, maintaining −196°C without external power well beyond the 8 to 12 hours a typical Spain–Tehran connection takes.
The unit is DGR-exempt but still requires airline approval on a per-booking basis — we arrange this directly with each carrier's cargo or dangerous goods division ahead of every flight. It travels as cabin baggage at all times. It is never checked in and never sent as cargo.

Planning a Transfer From Spain to Iran?
Tell us which clinics are involved and what stage the documentation is at. We'll explain exactly what this route involves for your situation.
Spain to Tehran, Clinic to Clinic
Real relationships on both ends of this route — a Spanish clinic network we coordinate with regularly, and established Tehran clinics that already know how we work.
IVF Clinics Across Spain
Madrid, Barcelona and other major cities
Spain is home to one of Europe's largest and most established fertility and egg donation industries. We coordinate directly with clinics across the country depending on where your treatment is based, liaising with the lab team on collection scheduling and export documentation.
Established Tehran Clinics
Nikan Hospital · TebMed · Royan Hospital
On the receiving side, we coordinate with established Tehran fertility clinics including Nikan Hospital, TebMed and Royan Hospital, in Farsi where that is the working language required, so import documentation and handover arrangements are confirmed before your courier travels.
If either clinic is not listed here, tell us — we will confirm directly with them what documentation and coordination is needed for your transfer.
Two Regulatory Systems, One Chain of Custody
Every Spain–Iran transfer needs documentation that satisfies both the sending Spanish clinic's export requirements and Iranian Ministry of Health protocols on the receiving side. According to general regulatory frameworks, this typically includes export authorisation and a specimen manifest from the Spanish clinic, an import acceptance letter from the receiving Tehran clinic, and a biological material declaration for Iranian customs — each prepared in the format the relevant authority requires, in English and Farsi where needed.
This is informational and educational content, not legal advice — requirements and processing times can change, and every case has its own circumstances. It is strongly recommended to verify current requirements with both clinics' regulatory or administrative teams before relying on any timeline, and to start the conversation as early as possible.
On our side, we prepare the courier documentation pack for the route — release letters, customs declarations, and chain-of-custody records — and coordinate the collection date around both clinics' readiness and the export authorisation being in place.
No sanctions apply to medical biological transport of this kind. We do not comment on Iranian law, politics or healthcare policy beyond this factual point — our role is limited to the logistics of moving biological material safely and with the correct documentation.
0% X-Ray Exposure — We Do Not Permit It
This is not a hedged promise — it is a hard operational rule. We prepare full airport security documentation and request manual inspection at every departure, transit and arrival point on this route, from Spain to Tehran. If manual inspection cannot be secured, the shipment does not proceed through that point. There is no risk-based exception made to this policy.
Spain to Iran Route — FAQ
How does Spain to Iran embryo or egg transport work?
We coordinate directly with your Spanish clinic and the receiving Tehran clinic, prepare the export and import documentation on both sides, and hand-carry your specimens in a validated cryogenic dry shipper as cabin baggage throughout.
Is this a direct route, or does it go via the UK?
This is a direct Spain-to-Iran route — it does not route through the UK. There are no direct commercial flights between Spain and Iran, so the courier travels via a connecting hub such as Istanbul, with the cryogenic container remaining in the aircraft cabin with the courier for the entire journey.
Which Spanish clinics do you collect from?
Spain has one of Europe's largest and most established IVF and egg donation networks, and we coordinate with clinics across Madrid, Barcelona and other major cities depending on where your treatment is based.
Which clinics in Iran do you coordinate with?
We coordinate with established Tehran fertility clinics including Nikan Hospital, TebMed and Royan Hospital. If your receiving clinic is not on this list, tell us and we will confirm what is needed to work with them directly.
Will the tank go through an X-ray scanner at any point?
No. We do not permit embryos, eggs or sperm to pass through an X-ray scanner at any point on this route. We prepare full airport security documentation requesting manual inspection at every checkpoint, in Spain, at the connecting hub, and at Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport.
Are sanctions a barrier to transporting embryos to Iran?
No sanctions apply to medical biological transport of this kind. We do not offer commentary on Iranian law, politics or healthcare policy — our role is limited to the logistics of moving biological material safely and with the correct documentation.
Is Embryo Links the only courier operating this route?
We are the only specialist courier operating a dedicated Iran embryo, egg and sperm transport service, with Farsi-language coordination built into how the route is run and real, active relationships with Spanish clinics on this corridor.
How far in advance should I contact you before my treatment date?
As early as possible. Export and import documentation on both the Spanish and Iranian sides can take several weeks to prepare and confirm — contacting us only a week or two before your planned transfer date leaves very little room for that process to complete in time.
"Our embryos were in Madrid and our clinic was in Tehran. We had no idea how the two sides would even talk to each other. Embryo Links handled the Spanish paperwork, coordinated with our Tehran clinic in Farsi, and the courier travelled with the tank the entire way. It arrived exactly as it should."
