Embryo Courier from China Direct to Iran
Hand-carry transport of embryos, eggs and sperm from clinics across China and Hong Kong direct to Tehran fertility clinics — the only specialist courier running a dedicated China-Iran route, with Farsi coordination built into how the route works.
How the China-Iran Route Works
Four stages, start to finish. This is a direct China-to-Iran corridor — the UK is not part of the journey. Nothing improvised at the airport; every document is prepared before we travel.
Consultation & Documentation
We confirm which clinics are involved on both sides, what each regulatory authority requires, and prepare export release paperwork, the Tehran clinic's import acceptance letter and customs documentation in advance — in English and Farsi where required.
Clinic Collection
Our courier arrives with a pre-charged MVE SC 4/3 dry shipper. Specimen identity is verified using dual-witness protocol before anything moves.
Long-Haul Cabin Transport
The courier carries the sealed dry shipper through security, requesting manual inspection rather than X-ray at every checkpoint including any connecting airports, and keeps the vessel with them throughout — no hold, no exceptions.
Tehran Arrival & Clinic Handover
Customs release documentation clears the tank at Imam Khomeini International Airport. Direct, witnessed handover to the receiving embryologist completes the chain of custody, and you receive a delivery confirmation message.
The MVE SC 4/3 Dry Shipper
Every China–Iran collection travels in our own validated MVE SC 4/3 cryogenic dry shipper, maintaining −196°C without external power for well beyond the duration of the journey, including any connecting flights.
The unit is DGR-exempt but still requires airline approval on a per-booking basis — we arrange this directly with each carrier's cargo or dangerous goods division ahead of every flight. It travels as cabin baggage at all times. It is never checked in and never sent as cargo.

Cabin Only

Airline approval still arranged per booking.

Planning a Transfer From China to Iran?
Tell us which clinic your specimens are at and which Tehran clinic they're going to. We'll explain exactly what's involved on both sides and what each clinic needs to prepare.
China and Tehran Clinic Networks
We coordinate directly with sending clinics in China and Hong Kong, and with established receiving clinics in Tehran, so documentation and handover arrangements are confirmed on both sides before your courier travels.
IVF Clinics Across China
Major mainland cities and Hong Kong
We coordinate directly with clinics across major Chinese cities and Hong Kong depending on where your treatment is based. Tell us your sending clinic and we confirm the logistics with their team directly.
Established Tehran Clinics
Nikan Hospital · TebMed · Royan Hospital
We coordinate directly with established Tehran fertility clinics including Nikan Hospital, TebMed and Royan Hospital, in Farsi where that is the working language. If your receiving clinic is not listed, tell us and we will confirm directly with them.
Two Regulatory Systems, One Chain of Custody
Every China–Iran transfer needs documentation that satisfies both the sending clinic's export-side requirements and Iranian Ministry of Health protocols on the receiving side. According to general regulatory frameworks, this typically includes an export release document and specimen manifest from the sending clinic, an import acceptance letter from the receiving Tehran clinic, and a biological material declaration for Iranian customs.
This is informational and educational content, not legal advice — requirements and processing times can change, and every case has its own circumstances. It is strongly recommended to verify current requirements with your specific clinic's regulatory team before relying on any timeline, and to start the conversation early rather than close to your planned treatment date.
No sanctions apply to medical biological transport of this kind. We do not comment on Iranian law, politics or healthcare policy beyond this factual point — our role is limited to the logistics of moving biological material safely and with the correct documentation.
0% X-Ray Exposure — We Do Not Permit It
This is not a hedged promise — it is a hard operational rule. We prepare full airport security documentation and request manual inspection at every departure, connection and transit point on this route, including at Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport. If manual inspection cannot be secured, the shipment does not proceed through that point. There is no risk-based exception made to this policy.
China to Iran Route — FAQ
Do you transport embryos and eggs directly from China to Iran, without routing through the UK?
Yes. This is a direct China-to-Iran corridor. We coordinate collection at the sending clinic in China or Hong Kong and hand-carry the specimens through to a receiving clinic in Tehran, without any UK leg in between.
Will my embryos be X-rayed at airport security?
No. We do not permit embryos, eggs or sperm to pass through an X-ray scanner at any point on this route. Our couriers carry a full documentation pack requesting manual inspection at every security point, including any connecting airports and at Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport. If manual inspection cannot be secured, the shipment does not proceed that day.
Is Embryo Links the only courier operating this route?
We are the only specialist courier operating a dedicated China–Iran embryo, egg and sperm transport service, with Farsi-language coordination built into how the route is run rather than added on.
Which clinics in Iran do you coordinate with?
We coordinate with established Tehran fertility clinics including Nikan Hospital, TebMed and Royan Hospital. If your clinic is not on this list, tell us and we will confirm what is needed to work with them directly.
Are sanctions a barrier to transporting embryos to Iran?
No sanctions apply to medical biological transport of this kind. We do not offer commentary on Iranian law, politics or healthcare policy — our role is limited to the logistics of moving biological material safely and with the correct documentation.
Can a cryogenic dry shipper survive the flight time between China and Iran?
Yes. Our MVE SC 4/3 dry shipper maintains −196°C without external power for well beyond the duration of a China-Iran journey, including any connections, so the specimens are never at risk from flight length alone.
What documentation is needed on the China side?
This is informational only, not legal advice. Clinics typically require an export-side release document and patient consent covering the specific receiving clinic in Tehran. We recommend confirming current requirements with your sending clinic's regulatory team as early as possible, and we coordinate directly with them on the documentation format needed.
How far in advance should I contact you before my treatment date?
As early as possible. Export and import documentation on both sides, plus airline approval for the route, all take time to arrange properly — contacting us only a week or two before your planned treatment date leaves very little room for everything to be ready.
"Our clinic was in China and the receiving clinic was in Tehran, and we weren't sure how a transfer like that would even work. Embryo Links handled both sides of the paperwork, kept us updated the whole journey, and our embryos arrived exactly as they left."
